Studio 102 Productions, LLC.,  a multimedia production company.  We produce and distribute English and Spanish Language television shows and radio and television commercials. In addition, we specialize in multilingual branding and strategic media buys.

Currently Studio 102 Productions is producing a reality TV show, “Celebrity Poker Live.”  The production company’s executive management team provides clients and studios  a combination of 75 years of expertise in the entertainment field. Karen Tobin
President & Executive Producer

Karen Tobin is a versatile executive with 20 years experience in television, radio, Internet and nonprofit consumer marketing and sales. Karen recently co-founded the nonprofit organization, the International 3D Society that provides industry education and recognition for the 3D community.

Karen Tobin’s television accomplishments includes being the Vice President, National Promotions for Fox Broadcasting Company where she created the two largest integrated multiplatform promotions in the network’s history: 24 Ford Sneak Peek generating $200 Million in revenue and The OC/ AOL Music Showcase generating $40 Million in new business and ratings dominance.

Karen was also the Director of Marketing Communications for KNBC-TV where she led the station’s on-air and off air brand messaging which became the Emmy winning “Working 4 You,” campaign.

She is also known for her decade long work as the Vice President, Marketing at the number one radio station in the country KIIS-FM. She pioneered the national concert series, such as KIIS & Unite (which became Wango Tango) benefitting the Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The concert series raised awareness of the organization and over a $1 million dollars in donations. Performers included Madonna, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Will Smith, and Cher. Also, Karen helped Rick Dees regain his marketplace dominance through award winning marketing campaigns, promotions
and stunts.

Karen Tobin is the recipient of the Billboard Magazine Marketing Director of the Year Award five times, PROMAX Marketing Director of the Year and American and Women Radio and Television (AWRT) Genii Award Winner. She graduated with highest honors from the University of California at Davis and is a Regents Scholar. She has her MBA from Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business.

 

John Baker
Executive In Charge of Production

John Baker is multi-talented production wizard. He has held roles as Director, Producer, Video Assistant, Audio Utility, Boom Operator, Key Grip, Electrical and Camera Assistant and Production Assistant on set. Features include “Small Apartments” with Billy Crystal, and “Hirokin” as Video Assistant/ Audio Utility/Boom. John recently finished the feature “The Prototype” as Key Grip and Camera Assistant. John Baker has also been Video Assistant on commercials for MTV, Audi, Scope, Porsche, VW, Progressive, MTV, Britney Spears, J-Lo, Loreal, K-Mart, Marilyn Manson, Foo Fighters, VMA, B2, Park Pictures, Pecabu Productions, Videorama, Red Line Films, Brewster Parsons, Reliant Energy, AT& T, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Kraft.

John has been director and editor of Music Video on the ballot for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in Best Short Form Video Category.

He also has been a Mixer and Audio Editor, created EPK’s, and has recorded for trailers, TV and radio spots for major studios such as 20th Century Fox,

Warner Bros., Disney, DreamWorks, New Line Cinema, among others.

John has worked on thousands of titles, including “Avatar,” “Race to Witch Mountain,” “Jennifer’s Body,” “500 Days of Summer,” “G-Force,” “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” “Wolverine” and “Harry Potter.”

John Baker graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Berkley College.

 

Brooke P. Hanson
Director

Brooke P. Hanson is currently directing a short form “behind the scenes” web series for Emmy nominated host Cat Deeley, of Fox’s hit show “So You Think You Can Dance. “ The series is distributed on Yahoo! and Yahoo’s celebrity portal, OMG! and explores Cat’s fashion inspirations.

Her music video, “Single Girls” for Dutch-American Universal Music artist Laura Jansen premiered as the “Must C” video of the week on MTV Netherlands, and as of February 2011, has garnered over 1 million aggregate hits on YouTube and Vevo. Brooke also directed the official music video for the 2011 Grammy winning song “Baba Yetu” by composer Christopher Tin, most commonly known as the theme song to the PC Game, Civilization IV (Firaxis Games). She also field produced behind the scenes digital content for “Stand Up to Cancer,“interviewing over 40 celebrities and overseeing on location behind the scenes filming during the 2010 telethon produced by Laura Ziskin.

Brooke has also directed prototype and paid spec commercials for brands
such as Amazon.com, Nokia, and The Wall Street Journal. In addition, to her directing work, Brooke has production designed music videos for directors such as Josh Forbes and Margaret Malandruccolo.

Brooke completed her MFA in Film Production at the USC’s School of Cinematic Arts in 2008. Her USC thesis film “Borderless” won “Best Student Produced Film” at the Naperville Independent Film Festival where she accepted the trophy from film critic Roger Ebert. The film was also an official selection at multiple film festivals throughout the world, including KCET’s (PBS/Los Angeles) “Fine Cut” Festival of Student Film and the New York International Latino Film Festival presented by HBO.

Before launching her career as a director, Brooke worked as Production Executive for Northwood Productions, and oversaw paperwork delivery on the film “Cake,” starring Heather Graham and David Sutcliffe. She earned a BA in American Studies with honors at Stanford University.
